A group of members have prepared a wonderful children’s Church Trail for use within St Mark’s Church. We have now handed over the finished material, which is quite excellent, to the Vicar and local children will soon be busily discovering both the interesting history of the Church as well as the significance of the contents of St Mark’s. We are lucky to have Liz Miekle, who is on the NADFAS Church Trail Team in our East Surrey NADFAS Area; she provided support for the members involved, and helped organise IT support for the project.

Young Arts

The new Reigate Community Centre, sponsored by Reigate Methodist Church and behind the Church in the High Street, opened in early May 2011 and is already being well used. At the beginning it was decided to decorate the space with a changing display of art. The first group showing work are the students from Reigate Sixth Form College with a wide range of work from fine art to graphic design.

To display this work effectively and to ensure that it will be easy to have a changing range of art over the coming months a range of picture frames and hanging equipment was needed.

Reigate Decorative and Fine Arts Society agreed to support this need with a grant that paid for half of the frames and hanging equipment that was required.  RDAFAS are happy to have sponsored something that will ensure a continuing and changing display of work from artists in the local community will be shown to the wider community on a regular basis.
